OGP Spring Sale and Exhibition: April 12-15
It has been an amazing winter and in studios in the greater Ottawa area artist-potters are inspired in the process of creating in clay. Soon it will be spring and along with sunshine and new growth comes a must see Art Exhibition and Sale showcasing the Ottawa Guild of Potters. The Vernissage begins the event at 6:30 pm on Thursday April 12. This is an excellent opportunity to mingle, meet the artists and enjoy complimentary refreshments while viewing the Exhibition. John Ikeda is the Juror for our Exhibition. John Ikeda has a B.A. in Fine Arts from University of Lethbridge, is a master potter who has received numerous awards, and sells his collections world-wide. The Sale runs from Thursday through to Sunday with over 40 artist-potters displaying one of kind sculpture, functional and decorative vessels, and more created to enhance your home and life.

Spring Sale and Exhibition 2012
Sculptors and potters of the Ottawa Guild of Potters are firing their kilns with new creations, in preparation for the next Sale and Exhibition at the Shenkman Art Centre in Orleans, to be held April 12-15. Thiis a wonderful opportunity to discover the craft and talent of Ottawa area ceramicists and to meet with them. Keep tuned for more information about these coming events.

Don't miss this perennial favourite social event. Choose a handcrafted bowl made by OGP members. Then, fill the bowl with gourmet soup and add wonderful bakery bread and goods, fresh coffee, cold drinks and make yourself comfortable. Enjoy the evening listening to amazing live entertainment with the company of friends and a multitude of talented volunteers. Together, we can all make a difference, support the Ottawa Food Bank and feed the hungry.

Great Bowls of Fire begins with your selection of a handmade bowl offered by one of the Ottawa Guild's potters. It will be filled with your choice of a delicious soup by some of the best restaurants in town, accompanied by fresh breads offered by several excellent bakeries. With these in hand, socialize with friends and feast on the food and music. Your hosts for the evening are Derick Fage and Lois Lee who will also animate the auction sale of special ceramic pieces.
We know that we can count on your generosity to support the Ottawa Food Bank. We would like to thank all these exceptional suppliers who are offering their wares for the benefit of the Ottawa Food Bank.
The impressive line-up of restaurants ladling out their warming soups include Il Primo Ristorante, Restaurant E18teen, Absinthe Café, Allium, Canvas Restobar, Domus Café, Town Restaurant, The Wellington Gastropub, Thyme and Again, Fraser Café and Stone Soup Foodworks.

Great Bowls of Fire 2012 Tickets
The Guild of Potters' Great Bowls of Fire 2012 event will be on March 3rd, again at the Glebe Community Centre. Tickets are still $35 and all proceeds go to the Ottawa Food Bank. The potters who are preparing the soup bowls are concentrating on their craft. The restaurants and bakeries are honing their selected recipes. As in previous years, you will sample delicious soups and fresh breads, with music supplied by Some Ensemble Required. Derick Fage and Lois Lee will MC the event and auction again this year.
We know that many people are anxious to attend this very popular event and that tickets sell out quickly. Here is the scoop! Tickets for the public will be going on sale on February 9 at Il Primo, on 371 Preston St. Please be courteous to the people serving you, this is a charity event!
The restaurant will sell tickets between 10 am and noon. Be forewarned that sales are first come - first served, on a cash basis only. The restaurant will not hold tickets for anyone!
