"What a great space--especially the entrance area.  Also, it seemed to me that the larger room allowed more space around the individual displays than at the Hellenic Centre.  I thought the quality of the work was outstanding."

Judy Deegan, President, Canadian Ceramic Circle

Its Happening: Great Bowls of Fire March 5th, 2011

The Ottawa Guild of Potters is happy that once again the popular GBoF event is sold out!  Unfortunately many eager participants were disappointed not to be able to obtain tickets in the first day rush.  If you have ideas how to overcome the problem of over-capacity - please let us know at smarshall8 (at)sympatico.ca.
Also, if you wish to donate to the Ottawa Food Bank, here is what you can do.  The Ottawa Food Bank's website offers several options for donations - online or by mail. Just go to this webpage (http://www.theottawafoodbank.ca/donate.php) to read about how you can donate.  If you wish, you can indicate that the donation is in connection with Great Bowls of Fire.

The Ottawa Guild of Potters is cooking up the next Great Bowls of Fire to warm you this Spring. On March 5th at 5:30 pm, volunteers from the Guild and friends will open the doors to the great hall of Glebe Community Centre and invite 350 ticket holders to join the fun and to raise funds for the Ottawa Food Bank. Everyone gets to select a bowl handmade by a local potter and then to sample the delicious soups and breads which are provided through the generosity of local restaurants and bakeries. The auction of various ceramic donations and the lively music of a local band enhance the stimulating atmosphere.

Tickets will be available at Thyme and Again and Il Primo restaurants after their opening hours on February 10th. The tickets, at $35 each, sell out very quickly, so don't hesitate to pick yours up on the 10th.
