Ottawa Guild of Potters Spring Sale and Exhibition
It has been a tradition for the Ottawa Guild of Potters members to support a local charity at each sale event by offering the sale amount of one of their pieces to a selected charity. Each of these pieces is tagged with the name of the charity, which this Spring is the Gloucester Association for Children with Special Needs (GACSN). For over 20 years, the non-profit GACSN has been dedicated to children with special needs with a programme of activities running from September to June. The group meets each Saturday afternoon for swimming, crafts, games and music and organizes outings such as movies, bowling, and museum visits throughout the year.
These activities allow the children with developmental delays and disabilities to truly participate in the community for the betterment of their physical and social development, while at the same time providing a few hours of respite time for parents or guardians.
The Guild Spring Sale and Exhibition will open at the Shenkman Arts Centre in Orleans on Thursday April 28th with a vernissage.
