Steve Irvine Workshop - My Creative Process
Steve Irvine will be demonstrating his unique craftsmanship in this January two-day workshop. Steve's home studio is located in Wiarton on the Georgian Bay. His work combines handbuilt and thrown pieces from teapots to whimsical pinhole cameras, which he fires in his gas-fired kiln, and sometimes with friends he has wood-fired. His glazed surfaces are complex, with vibrant colour and texture variations. Take a look at his website and you will find many examples of his exciting work (steveirvine.com). He will be showing how he creates these forms by combining hand building with thrown work and will talk about how he achieves his interesting glaze effects. This experience will enable you to explore and discover your own personal creative energy.
