Renée Larochelle
It has been five years since I first discovered the pleasure of working with clay and the sensations, emotions as well as peace of mind it brings to me. As a biologist, nature and particularly animal wildlife represent an important source of inspiration. In my work, I explore relationships between subject, form and textures in order to create a harmonious decorative piece. I enjoy creating texture on the surface of the clay in both my decorative and functional pieces. I often leave part of clay unglazed as I like the warmth and natural aspect it gives to my pieces. I hope that through my work I can share my passion for both nature and clay.
My work is available at The Ottawa Guild of Potters, Spring and Fall Sales.
