Sylvie Parisien

 

Sylvie Parisien is a new talent in Canadian ceramics. She first introduced her work to the public in November of 2008. Sylvie has studied with established Canadian master potter Jason L'Abbé and glaze master Ron Roy. From her Nepean-based SunSlip Ceramics Studio, she alters her wheel-thrown porcelain media to express dream visions. She then filters these through custom glazes -- including the organic beauty and textures of hand-washed wood ash.

Sylvie's work has been shown in a co-exhibition with established Canadian painter Jacques Desgagnés (November 2008). Her pieces can be purchased at Capital Granite on York Street in Ottawa, at the semi-annual sales of the Ottawa Guild of Potters, and by appointment at SunSlip Ceramics. Her latest creations can be seen online at sunslipceramics.blogspot.com.
