I started pottery as a hobby in 2001, taking courses at Nepean Visual Arts Centre and Haliburton School of Art and Design. By 2004, though, the “hobby” matured, we built a studio in our home, purchased the necessary equipment and pottery became a business. I am an active member of the Ottawa Guild of Potters and regularly take workshops to hone my skills. My mid-fire stoneware is functional and durable. Bake in it, serve from it, and clean it in the dishwasher. All glazes are lead-free and food-safe. My work is for sale from my home studio, at guild sales, Arts in the Park, and various craft sales. Retired, my time is now divided among pottery, fitness, volunteering at a women’s shelter and grandmothering.
