I am a retired civil engineer and a hobby potter. I produce functional and decorative pieces. I sell my work at the Guild’s and community sales, and on commissions.
I started playing with clay, seriously, about 8 years ago. But it was always brewing somewhere in my mind, in my heart, for many years. I like building different forms with clay, functional or not, and making a note of my thoughts and feelings at the time. I’m amazed to discover every day, many of the beautiful and individual pieces that ceramic artists and artisans have created over thousands of years, and are still creating today. In ceramics, ‘sky is the limit’ for creativity. I pride myself for being a humble student of ceramics, and consider myself lucky when and if I can do a piece that can catch the eye of someone.
